We had a sewing day today (there's a shock!). A few of the girls in my quilt group the Gumnuts came over today and we sewed. They all wanted instruction in making my favourite Japanese Lunch Bag.
Glenys came early as she had to leave early. Her mission was to make a toy bag for her Grandson and look what she achieved!
Super cute boats sailing around the outside of it - cheery giant red gingham lining and nautical navy and white stripe casing to hold the draw string cord!
And a corner stone of buoys on the bottom!
Del was next to complete her bag. She chose lovely water lilies and a fabulous companion print basket weave for the casing and lining.
And lastly but certainly not least, Irene made the first of three that she is making her her lucky grand babies. All four sides are different - starting with her Grand daughter's name...
and Christmas fairies on each side
a surprise base of more fairies
and a gorgeous warm red lining!
After the girls left settled back in my sewing room and managed to finish off my potholders.
I just love these fabrics with the Christmas lights and the stockings - I do love sewing with Christmas fabrics!
That is it for tonight. Remember i am determined to churn out as much as I can for Ireland between now and Monday or Tuesday so tomorrow I will be delving into my pile of cut out and ready to sew projects! What will I sew tomorrow........guess you will have to wait and see....
