Super star day!

A fairly quiet quilty day today but I am still pleased with what got done.  First up I finished constructing the label for Bruce's quilt.  This project has lost just a little of its urgency as my husband is heading to the States and is hoping to be able to deliver the quilt himself.  That would be great so I hope it comes off.  At the very least he can take it to the States and post it there - much cheaper than sending it from here.
Tonight after dinner I was too tired to sit and sew, so I spent the time cutting out 5 1/2 inch stars for my quilt group's Christmas raffle quilt.  This one goes to the local fire brigade as a fun raiser.
I also had time to draw the diagonal line on the back of the star point squares so they are ready to sew tomorrow.  Everyone else is supposed to have cut out some stars or even sewn some.  We are doing a mix of 5 1/2" and 10 1/2" stars and some squares of larger prints.  Should be quite a cute quilt once it is done.  Here is hoping we have a very productive day at quilt group.  We will need a couple of them to get this quilt pieced and quilted ready for the fire brigade Christmas Raffle!

Till next time......happy stitching!

  3. How wonderful that your husband may be able to hand deliver the quilt! Your label looks great! And I'm sure tomorrow's sewing includes some of your delicious treats. Am I wrong??!! As always, have FUN!!

  4. I always love your labels...you have inspired me and I've made a few log cabin labels, but nothing too fancy yet. I liked the story about your son and his shoes. In a few years my reality will be a lot different than yours...I have 3 daughters, so they will probably like shopping too much for my credit card!

  5. Bruce's label turned out great. You have done a wonderful job on your stars. Maybe you can come to the states with your husband and sneak over to Houston lol. Wouldn't that be great? Hope you have fun tomorrow.
