Shattered......

Well, at least that is what I think it looks like and I can't remember what the real name of the pattern is.  I think it looks like shattered tiles or mosaic or something and because half the fabrics are music themed fabrics I have decided to call it Shattered Notes.
This is the quilt I have been making at fortnightly classes I am going to at my local quilt shop.  I did two weeks of free motion quilting practice and then decided to make a quilt as you go quilt so I would have some thing to do some free motion quilting on.  This is going to be a quilt to cover (read protect) the sofa in my sons' TV room.  I am refusing to get too attached to it as the boys are bound to accidentally cover it with Dorito dust, Fanta, Sunkist, Coke etc etc.
Have to tell you there is a great giveaway at Raggedy Station if you are interested in some great fat quarters of black and white.  Would go great with the above pattern don't you think!
Happy Stitching!

  1. Love the name - it suits it perfectly! I can relate to the mess that somehow just surrounds boys.

  7. A number of years ago, one of my friends made a quilt where she stacked up all the fabric and cut the pile into segments and then took a different fabric from each pile and sewed those blocks back together. The result looked a lot like this and I have always wanted to try it. Might be a bit hard without a machine but...
