A little bit of Aussie Heroes

First up - for all the New South Welshmen among us I hope you are all okay and not affected by the current floods.  It is just amazing to see all the coverage on the TV.  So devastating.  Have you or anyone you know been affected?

I don't normally put Aussie Heroes items on this blog but I thought I would share this one with you coz it is so pretty.  Earlier this year we sent off a girly quilt and laundry bag and the recipient wrote and said a lovely thanks and added that she was going to leave her quilt behind for her replacement.  I wrote back to her and said that was very kind of her but she needed feel obligated.  I told her if she gave me the address I would send her replacement a quilt and a laundry bag as well.

Well, this is the laundry bag.  Ages ago I made myself a quilt based around the yellow border fabric in this quilt and I love it.  I kept all the scraps as they were just too pretty to throw away and tonight when I was looking for laundry bag fabric they jumped out at me!
Hopefully this will go off into the post tomorrow.

I am hoping to have a potholder making fiesta this weekend and end up with all the prospective potholders cut out and, hopefully, most of them sewn.  I am out all day on Saturday.  I have been asked to speak about Aussie Heroes to a local quilt group - how exciting and then I plan to sew along side them for the rest of the day.  Sunday is a quiet day though and I plan to spend as much time working on the potholders as possible.

Hope you all have something nice planned for the weekend.

Till next time..........happy stitching!
