How lovely are thy branches.........
This is what I have been occupied with today. This is the first of three. I had hoped to have all three done today but no such luck. This one sits in our family room, the second will go in our conservatory where I can see it from the kitchen when I am cooking. The third sit in our living room and as it is on carpet that is where I put all my really breakable ornaments as the other two trees sit on a tile floor. I still haven't worked out what I am doing wrong with my camera - sorry this isn't the sharpest focus.
These are some of my favourite ornaments - My Essex CT Santa with a shell beard! LOVE IT!
This used to be on my Grandma's tree.
And my ODE to Texas! Love the candy canes in the holsters.
Remember my friend Barbara, married to Bruce who I made the quilt for earlier in the year....well she made me this suede boot ornament. Bruce comes from Texas and every year they have a Texan Tree, hence home made Texan boots.
And this is another favourite. This is from the 70's and it is from when I was a kid.
Two more trees tomorrow, I hope.
Till next time.....happy stitching....or maybe decorating!
Love your tree----------what I love best is hanging the special ornaments and remembering where they came from or who gave them to you. Three trees, there is a lot of Christmas spirit at your house. I once had a second tree but all my family made fun of it because it was a cheap KMart tree, but it had all gold decorations, I thought it was beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI like your tree! Do you put skirts on trees in Australia? Also, what is a conservatory? I've run across the word in a few blogs, but I'm not sure what its American equivalent would be. We can have a family room and a living room, but I'm not really sure what the difference is!
ReplyDeleteLots of nice ornaments.
ReplyDeletewe put up our tree today too! Lovely!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's beginning to look a lot like Christmas ... Hey, that sounds like it would make a good song...
ReplyDeleteCertain un-named bloggers are beginning to feel very inferior and way behind because of energetic over-achievers like you.
Seriously, I'm in awe.
It is so nice that you have such special memories about so many of your Christmas ornaments.
