And again!

Another no-sew day today - :-(
My boys' last day of school today for 8 weeks!  Egads!  Therefore my last real day of freedom!  First I baked Almond Cookies - a single batch as I had not made them before but it seems they are pretty popular according to the friends I gave them too.
Then I made a double batch of Christmas M&M Cookies - same recipe as my Chocolate Chip Cookies but using M&Ms instead.
Then a batch of Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip Cookies - the recipe is on the back of the Reeces Pieces packet and if you don't have the Reeces Pieces you can't make them.  My hubby brings them back from America for me and I only use them to make these cookies.
And I finished off with a double batch of Oat and Almond Cookies.  These have cardamon in them and they smell divine!
 Oat and Almond Cookies
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup plain flour, sifted
2 tspn ground cardamon, sifted
1 cup sugar
11/2 cups flaked almonds
125 gms butter, chopped
1 tbspn golden syrup
2 tbspn boiling water
1 tspn bi carb soda

Preheat oven to 200c and line trays with baking paper
Combine oats, flour, cardamon, sugar & almonds in a large bowl.

Heat butter & syrup in saucepan over low heat until buter is just melted. Set aside . Combine water & bi carb in small jug. Add bi carb mix to butter mix. Stir.  Add butter mix to oat mix & stir to combine.

Put tblspns of mix onto trays, 5cm apart.  Bake 15 - 20 mins or until golden.

Some of today's cookies went to pay for Guitar Heroe's haircut and some are wrapped up for our cookie swap at tomorrow's Gumnut Quilter's Christmas Lunch and the rest are headed for the freezer till closer to Christmas.
Once all the baking was finished and wrapped up I wrapped up my pin cushion for tomorrow's swap
And by then it was time to take Guitar Hero to have his haircut!  A few careful snips (well maybe a bit more than that...) Guitar hero went from this......

to this!   I love it!  This sort of haircut really suits him and will be so much easier for my "don't touch the hair" kind of guy to keep looking nice.  Love it love it love it!
A little bit more Christmas present wrapping tonight so I can send off the last goodies with Hubby when he travels to Melbourne tomorrow morning and all that was left of tonight was enough time to write my blog .....and a bit of reading - too tired to sew!

Roll on Thursday, Friday and Saturday - I should be able to get some sewing in on those days!

Till next time...........happy stitching!

I'm serious when I say that you should sell your cookies or have a cookbook; these days one can't buy tasty biscuits.Well done..
