At least my day did today. Last night at the Parent Teacher night I found out there was a morning tea for the Year 10 parents today - it had slipped past me - but I wanted to go so I rearranged a few things and that meant getting straight into my day by slamming out chocolate mini muffins by 720am this morning. Don't be shocked as I am up and hanging around between 540am and 720 anyway, just trying to get the boys out the door without doing everything for them! I usually have time to make something quick. This is a new recipe so I haven't typed it up yet but yell out if you want the recipe.
They went down pretty well with the boys and two of their class mates so I guess the recipe is ok.
Just had time to do a few chores then off for morning tea with the other mums - chat about school stuff and Senior School Subject selection and so on. next on to quilt group. There was lots of ooh-ing and aahh-ing over the current progress of the round robin quilts - but again I can't show you photos! Time to come back home and arrange food for kids then rushing off to pick up Fly Boy and class mates and do my normal Wednesday prolonged taxi service.
Finally back home around 630 and quickly throw together dinner for Guitar hero and I. No actual sewing tonight but I did manage to organise and cut my fabric for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge for the month. This month the colour is white and I have dragged out lots of scrap squares of other colours to go with it. I am going to sew about 70 odd four patches and then I will go from there. Still undecided if I will add more white or more colour or just a border. I will wait till I get to the design wall stage.
Tomorrow I am hoping to sew but after two consecutive doses of antibiotics which finished yesterday I thought I was on the mend. Sadly I have had a couple of disturbed nights and now I am getting a sore throat again. I always seem to get a sore throat if I miss out on too much sleep so I am going to try and rest a bit tomorrow as well. I have to be well for the weekend as we have Brooke's going away party on Saturday night.
Hopefully tomorrow will see some more Christmas stars but if you don't hear from me for a couple of days you will know I am resting and party prepping (not that there is much of the latter to do as it is really like a family get together and everyone shares the load)
Till Next time........happy stitching!

Not very exciting at this stage!

Yes, listen to your body. I don't think I could keep your schedule!

I love the plan-it-as-you-go aspect of that quilt. Please put your health at the top of the to-do list.
ReplyDeleteOh, I remember those days! You might consider making up batches of muffins or cupcakes to put in the freezer. They are great to pull out at the last minute for things like this!(Don't frost the cupcakes until you take them out though.)I have two cakes and a batch of cupcakes in my freezer right now for emergencies! I'm often called to take food to someone who has had a death in the family or someone in the hospital or (on a happier note) a new baby! I either pull out a can of frosting or whip up a quick batch and I'm all set.
ReplyDeleteThose chocolate muffins look deliciousl I would love the recipe when you have time! You are a rockstar mom!
ReplyDeleteYummy looking muffins! Take care of yourself and don't over do it! Your So Scrappy Challenge sounds interesting for this month, I might do something with my RRCB creme blocks.
ReplyDeleteThat is no good that you are still not well... I do hope that you can get better soon... I saw that you had organised your fabrics too they do look so good xxx
ReplyDeleteWhat a way to start the day off chocolate muffins mmmm. I am looking forward to seeing the white quilt you are working on. You are way to busy you need to rest and enjoy a warm bubble bath. Hope you get to feeling better soon.
