I was determined that by the end of this weekend I would have my up-cycled stars quilt top put together and I have nearly done it. I finished my last four blocks today AND I got all the stars sewn together. I still love this quilt and I am still planning to give it away but I can always make another one.
So, now the hard decision - and annoyingly I don't think the light has resulted in the clearest pictures but now I need to decide on the border. Which colour? Red or green......
Peach or hot pink gingham?
Snickers said "just pick one Mum!"
and then she gave up and left me for bed!
Hope you stick with me a bit longer - what do you think?
Great quilt!! i think i like the border best!
ReplyDeleteopps sorry i meant to say red border!
ReplyDeleteI actually like the green............
ReplyDeleteWell, since you are making it for me, I would love the pink!
ReplyDeleteI would go for red for the border.
ReplyDeleteThe green speaks to me, but ... It's YOUR quilt. I like the string contrast with the green--if you warn a more coordinated look, then any of the other colors would be a better choice.
ReplyDeleteSorry, I am not much help because I like the idea of a multi-coloured border - maybe piano keys??? with narrow spacer border in-between.
ReplyDeleteJan-Maree I am loving how your quilt is turning out. I think the red border makes it POP. Can not wait to see what you decide. Snickers is just so super cute. Just look at those puppy dog eyes.

I would add the red border, really makes the quilt "pop" like Donna stated. I love this pattern and though I have a zillion UFOs, you are tempting me to make this. Can't wait to see it completed.
ReplyDeleteblessings, jilly
personally I go with green,,, but thats me ...and its YOUR quilt xx have fun what ever you decidexx
ReplyDeleteLooks fantastic... can you do a little green boarder then a larger red boarder xxx
ReplyDeleteLove the green! Maybe a red binding to tie it all together? Great stars, so happy.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if I'm too late to comment, but I like the green border and l think a red binding would be nice also.
ReplyDeleteI think a lovely apple green might be a tad unexpected, i do love my red but green is always a nice surprise, love Posie
ReplyDeleteJust absolute love it ! Red for me...
ReplyDeleteHi Jan Maree. I hope you don;t mind but I've nominated your blog for a Liebster Award.

To be honest I would use all four fabric's and start with say the top border, add the side border going clockwise around the quilt.
ReplyDeleteI do love doing things like that for fun.
I'll weigh in here on the border :) I love the green in the first photo---really pulls out the bits of green in your blocks. :) And speaking of blocks, do you mind sharing a pattern source for that block? Thanks. :)
