Lots of baking today - my quilt group is coming tomorrow and also my girlfriend, Glenda, and her mother Bubbles. Glenda and I used to work together in the Airforce as Air Traffic Controllers (yes I was a woman in uniform!) and recently got in contact again thanks to the joys of Facebook. Glenda now lives in Dublin and is married to another ex-air traffic controller called Don who works at the Australian Embassy there. Last year my fellow Gumnuts (the quilt group) and I helped Glenda to stock the Aussie booth for the Irish Charity Bazaar, an event all the international embassies support. As Glenda is coming out to visit family it was a good opportunity for her to meet the ladies who helped me. Ironically I don't think we will be doing much work on this year's contribution for the Bazaar. My first request is that the group help me finish up all the New Beginnings Kits we have made for Queensland and Victoria- see the button on my side bar.
So, back to the baking.......
First I made eleven of these sausage rolls - each will be cut into for pieces and about half of them are for tomorrow and the rest will go into the freezer for snacks for Fly Boy. the end one is a bit short as i needed my gorgeous husband to taste test it for quality control - at least that is what he called it!
Next came a boiled fruit loaf. Believe it or not this is a recipe that I first made in Home Economics classes at high school!
This is a yummy chewy slice called appropriately Chocolate Delight! I hope a lot of this gets used up tomorrow as it is really more-ish!!!! It is also good for lunch boxes so hopefully my boys will eat the leftovers!
And last but definitely not least- Melt and Mix Chocolate Chunk Mud Cake! Big Yum! and big warning - I am happy to email any of my recipes to anyone who would like them BUT don't blame me if you eat too much! This is a gorgeous, easy to make cake with chopped up chunks of choc in the middle and on top. Yummo!
Good night all! and Happy Stitching!

Only a little but of sewing tonight - the label for Amy's Asian Butterfly quilt - I am going to give it to her tomorrow
.Well, that's it for me tonight. If you have the time please say a prayer for north Queensland tonight - there is a huge cyclone bearing down on them, set to make land fall around late morning tomorrow and it is going to be a big one. So many parts of Queensland have suffered enough already. I really hope tomorrow's forecast develops much less than expected.Good night all! and Happy Stitching!
Your goodies look so good. You are making hungry. Love love chocolate. Your label is really cute. What a great idea. Yes we will keep the people in Queensland in our prayers we did hear about the weather.
