I didn't know what I was getting myself into when I started writing this blog but I have to say I have had a ball and I have really enjoyed "meeting" and getting to know other bloggers. I have found it so encouraging and supporting and so much fun. People ask me all the time how i get so much done. Well I have to say the having the blog really spurs me on and keeps me motivated.
I can't believe this is my 200th post. Amazing! Those of you who are following me really make my day every time you comment and offer encouragement and friendship. Thanks so much. It means a lot!!!
I didn't get much sewing done this morning. Needed to do a bit of shopping, then had a haircut then fed the hungry teenagers. Guitar Hero's friend spent the night last night so I had to spend some time playing World's meanest Mum, making them tidy up after themselves this morning (a role they say suits me too well - oh tough!). I am trying to think of a good name of the friend - 16 years old, blond with fair skin, plays soccer, too much computer, 6'4". Will have to think on it! Spent some time talking to his lovely Mum when she came to collect him. She and I get on really well and often swap notes and conspire with regard to spending money amounts or so on so the boys are on a par.
That reminds me - the lovely Mum breeds miniature fox terriers and this is one of his latest puppies -
can you guess why he is called Phantom? Apart from the mask on his face the rest of his body is white - too cute! Just had to share him with you!
After all those activities I managed to get some quilting done. Not very exciting. I am still not game enough to FMQ a full sized quilt. I think it will hurt my hands too much, one because of the weight of the quilt and too because of the time it will take. It is just not the time to try yet. the Irish Quilt is quilted now and the binding machined on. It is still full of pins but I am taking it to quilt group tomorrow and hope they will take the pins out for me. If someone offers to trim it for me, wonderful, but if not i will bring it home and do it later. One of the lovely Quilt Group ladies has volunteered to hand sew the binding for me which is lovely.
This photo isn't great but i am hoping you can make out the concentric square quilting.
It might be a bit more obvious in this photo and the stripes in the backing, which is also the binding, shows up better here.
I also managed to finish quilting the Mystery Quilt with the blue border. I didn't include a pic of the front as you have seen that here but i am once again hoping that you can pick out the quilting.
I was going to do some more sewing tonight but I am too tired so here is a sneak peak - bet you can't guess what I am going to make!
Till next time..........Happy stitching!
