Quilts for Queensland!

Oh boy!  Tonight I am bushed.  No photos coz I spent about 5 hours today working on the latest Round Robin Quilt I have.  I am really pleased with it now but I had to resew a bit before I could put my border on as it wasn't sitting flat.  Measure through the middle ladies when putting a border on  - it really does make a difference but especially in a medallion quilt!

It took so muh concentration and precision to get it right that I have been quite bushed since then!  I have done nothing tonight but relax.  I guess having a cold makes me more tired too!  Nevermind.

Now I want to issue an invitation to any Sydney bloggers who read my posts.  On the 21st of August, Corrie, aka retromummy, is holding a sew in to complete quilts for Queensland.   I want to encourage any Sydney quilters to come along and join the fun  - wish you overseas girls could come!  What a ball we would have!

All the details are here.  I hope some of you can make it.  Let me know if you want the whole address.

Lots more sewing planned for tomorrow so it is off to bed for me for a good rest.

Happy stitching everyone !

  1. Hope you put a picture of your Round Robin, borders and all. You have been working hard, maybe you need a little rest and relaxation from quilting. Hope you get good response for the sew-in.

  2. You are so right about measuring through the middle! But I bet the main problem was trying to do something with a cold...I can't think straight when I'm all fuzzy from a cold. Looking forward to seeing the quilt. How nice to have that get-together...I know great fun will be had by all!

  3. Can't wait to see the pictures, but take your time. It's hard to work under duress especially with a cold. Hope you feel better soon!

  4. Sorry to hear about your cold and hope you get better soon. Sounds like a very busy day so you should relax. Blogging/photos/writing is more work than none-bloggers think but we love doing it.

  5. Even when you are sick you get so much done. I think you should slow down and rest and let the meds work a bit.

I know what you mean about measuring through the middle before adding borders. That was one of my first lessons that I figured out pretty quickly!
