Well today is the first Scrappy Saturday for the month of May and the colour for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge this month is PINK. I pulled all my pink scraps out last week and started sorting them out and every morning this week I have spent a bit of time cutting out. I told you what I am planning to make with all my pink scraps here and now everything is cut and ready to sew and looks like this.
I have also been doing lots of hand sewing this week. I have decided to give you a little sneak peak and you might work out what they are - no prizes there - but this is all I can show you till they make it public sometime later in the year.
Tomorrow is Mother's Day. Sadly my Mum is gone (still miss you Mum) and my mother-in-law lives in Melbourne so the only mother we are catering for here is me! We are off to lunch at a yummy cafe restaurant and then home to sew - well, I will be sewing! I am going to get stuck into my pink things so i should have a bit more than a few sneak peaks to show you tomorrow!
Till then, I hope all the Mum's out there have a lovely day and lots of Happy Stitching!
The big squares are 9 1/2 inches and they are going to be the backing of the quilt. The pile on the right is all sorts of lengths cut 6 1/2 inches wide and they will be the top. The pile of squares with the little squares on top are going to be some more flower blocks like the ones here and the other pile of pink squares in the top right will be a couple of disappearing nine patch blocks to go with the red, blue and purple ones I have already made thru the year so far.

The pink fabrics are lovely so I'm sure the quilts are going to be gorgeous!! I hope you enjoy your special day tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteI missed getting into the Rainbow Challenge, maybe next year. Sounds like fun. I linked back to the block you are using with the pink, it will be nice. Do you have to make a complete quilt/project with each month scraps? Happy Mother's Day
ReplyDeleteI was going to ask the same question as Betty Lou....looks like a couple of quilts are going there. I think I'd be mixed up, unless you all have a system going that organizes it all. Can't wait to see the big reveal.
ReplyDeleteHappy Mum's Day to you, too.
You have been busy cutting up all your pink fabrics. I wish I was as organised as you!
