Sewing for me Saturday Night!

I have been madly quilting for AHQ today and I am taking the night off to sew for me.  But before I show you what I have sewn I will show you some recent retail therapy.  First up thirtyfive 10 1/2 inch squares in 1930's fabric.  These are for use later in the year but it was a good chance to get them.
 I really love these bunnies!
And then I ordered a scrap bag of golden sunshine - - yummy yellows.  As it turns out about half of them will be good in guys' quilts
and the other half are definitely more feminine.
Last last night I started these mini stars.  I left them on the machine so that I finished them before I did anything else this morning.
I really love the little details that you can include.
I got a little more done on my tumbler placemats today.  Two quilted, two to go.
And I made a trial pinwheel block too.  I have to make pot holders and other bits for the Irish Charity Bazaar this year for the last time.  My friend who runs the Australian Embassy Stall, Glenda, and I decided that we need lots of Christmassy stuff.  This is my first pinwheel.  Now that I have made it I have decided that I like the size so I will make more the same.  In the next few days I will try to get a bunch cut out so that they are ready to sew when I have time.  I might do some star blocks as well.

Before I go - don't forget to leave a comment on this post if you want to be in the draw for my follower giveaway.  You know the saying - you have to be in it to win it!
Till next time......happy stitching!

Oh my stars!

I finally made some more!  Tonight I did some sewing for me.  These need to be trimmed but they are otherwise all ready to be added to my slowing growing stash of stars.  Now I have 17!

I am not getting much "me sewing time" at the moment - too much to do for AHQ but it won't always be that way.  I just have a batch of quilts that need quilting and then binding.

Tomorrow should be fun - my girlfriend Tarja and her daughter Jess are coming over to get started on two quilts - one for Tarja's mum and one for her MIL.  They will spend a few hours tomorrow cutting and sewing and then I will finish the quilts off.  At least Tarja and Jess can say they did some of the sewing!

And before I go - don't forget about my giveaway.  It is open till the 28th of January and all followers welcome!

Till next time..........happy stitching!

What to do...

I thought I would show you what I have been collecting all 2011.  Celia and I had our own little swap all 2011 which we more or less aligned with the Rainbow Scrap Challenge .  I sent Celia four 5 inch stars and a hexagon flower and Celia sent me four 5 inch crumb blocks and a little stitchery.

Unfortunately I have put one month's worth of blocks somewhere very careful and not with the others, so the full compliment of blocks is not there but I think the rest look fabulous together - the white background just doesn't do the blocks justice though.
And here are the cute stitcheries.  I think I will put these in a separate quilt and maybe use the stitcheries as centres of some sort of block.  I think these are just gorgeous!
And this is my small collection of star blocks.  This is what I send to Celia and I made  few extras for myself. this year I plan to make more for me as well as making some for Celia.  They are just too cute.
So, now I need some inspiration - how should I use the crumb blocks?

Till next time.........happy stitching!
