Oh boy! what a day. The Gumnuts met at our favourite quilt shop for the first meeting of the year today and boy, did we work hard. I have have written a complete run down of all the action and creations of the day on my Aussie Hero Quilts Blog and please forgive me for not repeating it over here but it is too late and I am too tired. I hope you will be patient with me while I get AHQ up and running. It is taking a bit of extra work at the moment while I get it established and that is cutting down on my Cherry Red blogging time but I will get everything back to normal as soon as I can, I promise. And I also promise not to refer you to AHQ blog every time you read this blog either, but for tonight, if you want to see all the pics etc you will have to visit AHQ.
In the mean time however I won the monthly draw at the store and that is a $50 voucher. Boy did I have fun spending it. I took my time and rifled through all the little samples that they have - that I never have the chance to look at any other time - and picked out some that I thought would be good in soldier quilts or other projects.
I couldn't resist these fresh and funky ones!
And you can't go wrong with spots
or soft and pretty
and not sure what I will do with these but I just loved the bats!
The Princess and the Pea will go into a book bag for my kindergarten niece, the tiny strawberries and oh so cute pink poodles are destined to go on the same niece's painting smock I think and who doesn't always need more safety pins for layering!
And finally some yardage -couldn't resist these spots! and I don't many spots at all!
And would you believe all of this finished off another loyalty card at the shop and I ended up with another $30 credit for another day!
